Located a short drive from three, count them, three National Parks, one State Wildlife Reserve and Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, Bishop California is your portal to outdoor adventures. If you’re looking to get away from it all – and let’s face it, there’s a lot to get away from – then you need a trip to Bishop.

With a wealth of world-class hiking and walking trails, there is so much to do here while retaining social distance! We’re one of the safest places you could possibly be right now, so come to Bishop and get out on to the trails. You deserve a break, and Bishop is the place to get it.

A popular, moderately difficult 7.2 mile hike, this is a perfect day hike with several small lakes formed from snow melt along the way. Even better, this trail is dog-friendly so long as you keep your furry friend on a leash and clean up after him or her!

While there’s nothing too strenuous about this hike, it’s worth noting that it is over 10,000 feet above sea level. That means you’re in for some beautiful scenery, but it also means that your efforts will hit you harder than you might expect!

If you want to check out this hike, the trailhead is called “Mosquito Flat” and should be easy to find on your GPS. Careful though – parking is limited, so get there early!

Feeling less adventurous, but still want a spectacular view? Rock Creek to Long Lake Trail is a 4.7 mile hike that’s flat and easy, but still results in a gorgeous view of Long Lake! This is a great hike to take the whole family, dog included!

Not for the light-hearted but absolutely rewarding those hardy enough to take it on, the Bishop Pass trail is a nearly six-hour hike with some of the most stunning views of the Eastern Nevada you’re ever likely to see. It’s absolutely worth the effort, though, so make sure you’ve got a good pair of boots and a trusty canteen to weather the sun!

That’s really just the tip of the iceberg – there are so many great hikes here in Bishop, you could stay for weeks and explore a different one every day. However long you’re staying, you’ll find a comfortable, clean and safe stay at the Best Western Bishop Lodge – book your stay at Bishop Lodge today for a much-deserved getaway
